REPORTING AN ACCIDENT OR NEAR MISS

Please read this before you complete the reporting form

The intention of this site is to provide accurate information on an accident in order to let future adventurers learn from the mistakes of others.

Your report will be edited to fit the format of our accident lists.

In addition to your report of the actual incident we need your contact details so we can verify the report.

In some cases we will ask for the names of those involved in an accident in order to seek their version of what occurred, ask about additional information and to verify the report.

The names of individuals, groups, clubs or commercial entities will NOT be listed on this site. The only exception is that the name of a deceased person may sometimes be listed on a report if the name is already on the public record due to other media coverage. The main reason for this would to avoid possible confusion about whether an Accident Register report relates to a fatal accident covered in the mainstream media.

Please note that the details of some accident reports may be made available to appropriate outdoor media outlets and researchers for reproduction. If this happens the anonymity of individuals mentioned in the accident reports will be maintained.
